Key objectives
Create an Educator Toolkit: Develop a comprehensive, trauma-informed manual for adult educators that integrates yoga, mindfulness, and nature-based activities to support migrant well-being.
Establish a Digital Support System: Build a structured 6-week "drip content" system to help migrants and refugees integrate healthy wellness habits into their daily routines.
Empower Wellness Trainers: Build the capacity of 10 non-formal educators—including migrants and refugees—to facilitate high-quality emotional resilience and social inclusion workshops.
Foster Social Inclusion: Use "Green Skills" and holistic practices to help newcomers build a sense of belonging and connection to their new host environments.
Enhance Educator Competencies: Equip teachers and social workers with innovative, intercultural tools to better manage stress and psychosocial challenges within diverse groups.
Why It Matters
Relocating to a new country—whether for career opportunities, family, or seeking safety—is a profound life transition that brings unique psychosocial challenges. Across Europe, a significant number of migrants and refugees report experiencing psychological distress and social isolation during the integration process.
PRISM addresses these challenges by moving beyond basic survival to focus on emotional resilience, mental health, and authentic social inclusion.
Building Emotional Resilience
We address the stress of cultural adaptation and the barriers to integration through evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.
Our activities, including yoga and mindfulness, are specifically designed to reduce stress and improve emotional well-being in a safe, supportive environment.
Facilitating Authentic Social Connection
PRISM helps both migrants and refugees put down "new roots" and build a sense of belonging within their host communities.
We promote active citizenship by involving migrants as peer-educators and mentors, transforming lived experience into a vital community resource.
Offering Holistic, Nature-Based Support
Our approach combines wellness practices with "Green Skills," such as permaculture and biodiversity conservation.
By connecting participants to their local environment through nature immersion, we foster both personal growth and ecological stewardship.
